Kindergarten at St. Catherine of Siena offers a full-day program.
The curriculum at St. Catherine of Siena closely adheres to the standards for the State of California and the Diocese of Oakland. Students in Kindergarten receive daily instruction in the following core subjects:
- Language Arts (Reading, Phonics, Storytelling, Writing)
- Social Studies
Specialized teachers offer weekly enrichment opportunities in:
- Physical Education
To encourage our students to get to know each other better, we have created a program called Faith Families. Students are grouped into a “family” headed by an eighth grader and consisting of eight other students, one from each grade. Kindergartners become the newest members of school “Faith Families” each September. These “families” will meet each month on a designated day to take part in activities that focus on Sunday’s Gospel Readings and a STREAM based activity. (STREAM, A collaborative blending of 5 concepts:Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math)
We invite you to look into becoming a part of our school family.
